Gramercy Residence

This project involved the combination of adjacent apartments in a Gramercy pre-war apartment building. A new fireplace surround, wrapping into both spaces, was introduced as a focal point to join the two spaces. The use of black accents and light fixtures was intended to evoke a sense of old New York juxtaposed with more modern design elements and furnishings. A previously renovated bathroom in one of the two apartments was redesigned in pre-war language to match the style of an original, unrenovated bathroom in the second apartment.
